Author: Omar Baz Radwan

Omar Baz Radwan comes from a Lebanese-American cultural background, and has also lived in Africa for many years. After completing a BA in English Literature with honours and a Teaching Diploma (TD) at the Lebanese American University (LAU), he worked as an English Instructor and Curriculum Coordinator for the International Baccalaureate (IB) and College Preparatory Programs (CPP) at the International College (I.C.) in Beirut for six years. He furthered my academic profile by completing an MA in Education at L.A.U., Beirut, and was granted a post as English Instructor in this university. During this time, he published a book of poetry collection, Amaranth (World Book Publishing, 2007) and organized poetry readings throughout Lebanon. In 2008, Omar joined Dublin City University, Ireland to continue his education in Literature, and in the summer of 2009, he completed an MA in Comparative Literature. He is currently working on a PhD in Comparative Literature on Arab-American poetry, specifically applying Imagology and identity construction in contemporary Arab-American poetry. After Omar’s success in his first collection of poems entitled Amaranth, which was received well, both in Lebanon and Ireland, he is publishing his second poetical work My Poetry Room (World Book Publishing, 2012). Today Omar is an English Literature instructor at LAU, Beirut.
